But it would be the epitome of what people don't like about Demoman: Spam. I don't wanna be a downer a minigun like this sounds fun as hell.

kinda the only pro I could think of, I'm sorry. It's not that Heavy doesn't require skill to aim it's just that some people consider projectiles more satisfying.Īnd that's. Instead of having to keep your crosshair on top of a target, you'd have to anticipate where they're going to go and adjust accordingly.

And it could be easily argued that a projectile minigun would have a similar appeal. This changes how some people play Pyro for the better since projectiles generally require more focus, especially since it rewards chaining direct hits together. People don't regard it as the best Pyro weapon, but some praise it's gotten comes from how it fires a series of projectiles rather than a steady stream of flames. We're gonna put aside any other theoretical effects like afterburn (though, side note, I'd be against that since it would basically be a much more annoying Scorch Shot to me).Ī good point of comparison is the Dragon's Fury. And for the record, let's assume this would basically rapidly fire projectiles that together do roughly the DPS of the stock Minigun. But even if it turned out to be untrue, I wanna talk about the pros and cons of a projectile minigun. Or at least, that's something a Redditor told me. Apparently, an early concept of the Huo Long Heater was going to be a projectile weapon. So the recent thread regarding the Huo Long Heater reminded me of this post. I LITERALLY SAID "it's not a good thing" and that "I'd rather have it gone than stay". Post-Production-Edit: HOLY FUCK I AM NOT DEFENDING RANDOM SPREAD. TL:DR - How significant and/or noticable random shotgun spread really is? And even though I don't feel it, I am not a fan of it either. I'd rather have it gone than to stay, because let's be honest, it really has no business to stay in the game. However, that's not to say that random spread is a good thing. That being said, maybe I'm just basing it too much on my experience. Unless they fired all 9 pellets with 100% accuracy, they will never operate like a Pistol where they deal consistent damage. Since, in most cases (aside from mentioned) shotgun will ALWAYS deal random amount of damage, even with spread on, since it's kind of well, how they work. But that being said, that could be just me. And a lot of people seem to not see a difference as well. I just do not see a difference or feel one, maybe because I never experienced the "18 damage point blank shot" that some had. Except for the situations where I'm shooting a stationary target like a Sentry, or if I am at point blank range. NO matter if I play casual, Uncletopia, Skial or PUGs, I CANNOT see a difference. And that is, about how significant random spread/bloom REALLY is.īecause, maybe that's just me, but I barely see the difference. But rather than to talk about that, I wanted to ask a question, that's in the title. With some wanting it gone (comp players, or more serious ones, or not fans of RNG) and others (like majority of casual folks, or Zesty fans) wanting to keep it in. Random Shotgun Bloom, as you know, is a mechanic that's been talked about a little bit by the community. A post regarding a mechanic, not liked one (by some anyway).
